Dosage Forms Available

• Budesonide + Formoterol Fumarate + Glycopyrrolate / Glycopyrronium is available via inhalation route, as a metered dose inhaler (MDI) and dry powder inhaler (DPI).
• It can also be used as respicaps or respules, which are liquid formulations that are converted into a mist by a nebulizer for inhalation.

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This combination medication is intended for use by adults and children above the age of 12 years.

Contraindications

• Budesonide + Formoterol Fumarate + Glycopyrrolate / Glycopyrronium is contraindicated in patients with known allergies to any of these three active ingredients.
• It is also contraindicated as the primary treatment for acute episodes of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and status asthmaticus.

Other Medications to Avoid

• Budesonide + Formoterol Fumarate + Glycopyrrolate / Glycopyrronium may interact with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (like ketoconazole and itraconazole), beta-blockers (like propranolol), diuretics (like furosemide), monoamine oxidase inhibitors (like phenelzine), and tricyclic antidepressants (like amitriptyline).
• Always inform your doctor about all other medicines you are currently taking before starting this medication.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of this medicine may cause symptoms such as headache, nausea, fast heartbeat, tremors, and dry mouth. If you experience these symptoms, immediately inform your doctor.
• If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• To manage throat irritation or oral thrush, rinse your mouth with water after each use of the inhaler.

• Avoid caffeine and alcohol as they may exacerbate some side effects such as tremors and fast heart rate.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• This medication may cause dizziness or blurred vision. If you experience these symptoms, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Use of Budesonide + Formoterol Fumarate + Glycopyrrolate / Glycopyrronium during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be done only if needed and under the supervision of a doctor.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with cardiovascular disorders, convulsive disorders, thyrotoxicosis, diabetes, ketoacidosis should exercise caution when using Budesonide + Formoterol Fumarate + Glycopyrrolate / Glycopyrronium.
