• Treating Seasonal allergies such as allergic rhinitis: Montina L Syrup can effectively manage the symptoms of runny nose and sneezing in seasonal allergies such as allergic rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis or hay fever is an allergic condition that occurs when the body's immune system comes in contact with allergens such as pollen, dust, or pet dander. It causes sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, watery eyes, and itching in the eyes, nose or throat. Our immune system produces an antibody called immunoglobulin E (IgE), which triggers the release of a chemical called histamine in the body. When these symptoms start interfering with your child's daily activities, giving them Montina L Syrup dosage after consultation with the doctor is better.
• Controlling the symptoms of respiratory conditions such as Asthma: Montina L Syrup uses also includes preventing asthma symptoms in children. Asthma is a chronic lung condition that causes the airways in the lungs to be inflamed. Children with asthma are sensitive to specific triggers, such as allergens, exercise, cold air, and respiratory infections. When the airways are exposed to these triggers, they narrow, making breathing difficult. Children with asthma also experience chest tightening, coughing and shortness of breath. Montina L Syrup relaxes the respiratory pathways to make breathing easier.

Dosage information

1. Daily Dose

The Montina L syrup dosage depends on the child's age and weight. The dosage may also vary with the severity of the child's condition and response to treatment. For asthma, it's recommended to give Montina L Syrup in the evening or 2 hours before indulging in physical activity. For allergy, it is best to give Montina L Syrup either in the morning or evening, depending upon the onset of symptoms. If your child has both, it's recommended to give Montina L Syrup in the evening. Following the prescribed dosage and consulting your doctor before exceeding it is essential.

2. Overdose

If your child has taken excessive Montina L syrup by accident, it is essential to take immediate medical attention from your doctor or nearby hospital. Symptoms of an overdose include vomiting, diarrhoea, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, rash, and headache.

3. Missed Dose 

You can give the missed dose of Montina L syrup to your child as soon as you remember, but if it's almost time for the next dose, skip it and continue with your regular dosing schedule; do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

• Montina L Syrup interacts with target receptors in blood to reduce inflammation and allergic reactions. Montelukast, an active ingredient in Montina L Syrup, works by blocking the action of leukotrienes. The body produces leukotrienes responding to allergens such as pollen, dust mites, or pet dander. These chemicals cause inflammation and swelling in the airways of the lungs. In children with asthma and allergic rhinitis, leukotrienes cause the airways to be inflamed and narrow, making breathing difficult. Montelukast blocks the action of leukotrienes to relieve inflammation in the airways, making it comfortable for children with asthma and allergic rhinitis to breathe.
• The other active ingredient in Montina L Syrup is Levocetirizine which works by blocking the effects of histamine, a chemical released by the body during an allergic reaction. Histamine causes sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, itching, and watery eyes. Montelukast blocks the effects of histamine to reduce these symptoms.
