• Diarrhoea: Oflomac Oz tablet may cause diarrhoea, a common side effect. It is characterised by loose, watery stools that occur more frequently than usual.
• Abdominal pain: Abdominal pain is a common side effect of the Oflomac Oz tablet. It is a pain or discomfort in the area between the chest and the pelvis.
• Headache: Frequent headache is a side effect of the Oflomac Oz tablet, causing pain or discomfort in the head. Headache may accompany other symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, photophobia and increased sensitivity to sound.
• Dizziness: Dizziness is a typical side effect of the Oflomac Oz tablet. It may cause lightheadedness or unsteadiness that may accompany other symptoms, such as nausea and sweating.

• Diarrhoea: Drink plenty of water or fruit juices to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid taking any medicine on your own to treat diarrhoea. 
• Nausea and Vomiting: Follow simple meals. Avoid eating oily, fried or spicy foods. Take an Oflomac Oz tablet before or after the meal. Do not sleep right away after eating. Consult your doctor if the symptom persists.
• Headache and dizziness: Drink enough water and avoid skipping meals. Take adequate rest. Try to be relaxed and stress-free. Apply pain relieving balm on your forehead if necessary. Consult your doctor if the symptom continues. If you are experiencing dizziness, avoid activities requiring mental alertness or physical coordination until these symptoms subside. 
• Abdominal pain: A common side effect of Oflomac Oz tablets is abdominal pain that can be managed by taking the medication with food.

PREGNANCY

Strictly not recommended for using Oflomac Oz tablet in pregnancy. The potential side effects of the Oflomac Oz tablet can harm the health of the mother and the foetus. If you are planning pregnancy, consult your doctor before taking the Oflomac Oz tablet.  

BREASTFEEDING

Oflomac Oz tablet is not advised for breastfeeding women because the effects of these tablets on breast milk and nursing infants are not well-known. Consult your doctor for advice before taking the Oflomac Oz tablet. 

ALCOHOL

Avoid drinking alcohol while taking the Oflomac Oz tablet as it may worsen your symptoms of sleepiness, dizziness and eyesight problems.

LIVER

Oflomac Oz tablet should be taken cautiously in patients with liver disease. Individuals with liver disease may have difficulty processing medications, which can increase the likelihood of adverse side effects. Consult your doctor for advice before taking the Oflomac Oz tablet. 

KIDNEY

Oflomac Oz tablet should be taken cautiously in patients with kidney disease or problems.

USING MACHINES AND DRIVING

After taking the Oflomac Oz tablet, you should not drive or operate machines if you feel dizzy, tired, sleepy, temporary loss of consciousness, less alert, have a spinning sensation in the head, impaired vision, shivering, abnormal body movements and seizure/fits.

ALLERGY

Do not take the Oflomac Oz tablet if allergic to Ofloxacin or Ornidazole. Also, inform your doctor if you are allergic to other quinolone antibiotics, such as ciprofloxacin and norfloxacin.

USE IN CHILDREN

Oflomac Oz tablet is not suggested for use in children and adolescents under 18. Consult your child's doctor for advice.

USE IN OLDER PATIENTS

Oflomac Oz tablet should be used cautiously in elderly patients. Your doctor will decide the dose, duration and frequency of the Oflomac Oz tablet depending on the severity of your existing condition and other comorbid conditions.

Drug-Drug Interactions

Oflomac Oz tablet can interact with medications, including

• Anticoagulants: Oflomac Oz tablet may increase the effects of anticoagulant medications, such as warfarin, leading to an increased risk of bleeding. Patients taking anticoagulant medications should closely monitor their blood clotting time while taking the Oflomac Oz tablet.
• Anti-arrhythmic medications: Drugs such as quinidine or amiodarone may increase the risk of arrhythmias when taken with an Oflomac Oz tablet. Patients given anti-arrhythmic drugs should closely check their heart rhythm when taking the Oflomac Oz tablet.
• Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): Drugs like ibuprofen, aspirin or naproxen, when taken with Oflomac Oz tablet, may increase the risk of seizures. 
• Theophylline: Oflomac Oz tablet may increase the effects of theophylline, a medication used to treat asthma and other respiratory conditions.
• Antibiotics: Azithromycin, Trimethoprim, Sulfamethoxazole, Metronidazole, and Erythromycin may increase the risk of toxicity in the body if taken along with the Oflomac Oz tablet.
• Anti-diabetic: Metformin, when used with Oflomac Oz tablet, may produce blood sugar fluctuations and lactic acidosis, an uncommon but severe disease.  
• Diuretic drugs: When taken with the Oflomac Oz tablet, Furosemide can increase kidney toxicity and lead to electrolyte imbalances such as low potassium and magnesium levels.
• Bronchodilators: If taken with the Oflomac Oz tablet, Albuterol can increase the risk of cardiovascular side effects. Albuterol can cause tachycardia (increased heart rate) and arrhythmias (irregular heart rhythms).

Drug-Food Interactions

Oflomac Oz tablet can interact with foods, including.

• Dairy items: One of the active chemicals in the Oflomac Oz tablet, ofloxacin, may not be as well absorbed when consumed with dairy products such as milk and cheese. Patients should abstain from dairy products for at least two hours before or after taking the Oflomac Oz tablet.
• Alcohol: The effects of the Oflomac Oz tablet may be amplified by alcohol, increasing the risk of sleepiness, dizziness, and poor judgement. While using the Oflomac Oz tablet, patients should abstain from alcohol use.
• Caffeine: The Oflomac Oz tablet may intensify the effects of caffeine, increasing the likelihood that you'll feel anxious, sleepy, and irritable. Patients taking the Oflomac Oz tablet should exercise caution when eating beverages like coffee or tea containing caffeine.

Drug-Disease Interactions

Oflomac Oz tablet can interact with diseases, including

• Colitis: Ofloxacin has been associated with inflammation in the colon's lining caused by a bacterial infection.
• Tendonitis: Fluoroquinolones, including Ofloxacin, have increased the risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture.
• Seizure disorders: Oflomac Oz tablet may raise the probability of seizures in people with a history of seizure disorders. Patients with a history of seizure disorders should be cautious when taking the Oflomac Oz tablet.
• Crystalluria: Ofloxacin can cause crystalluria, forming crystals in the urine. Patients with a history of kidney stones or other conditions that increase the risk of crystalluria should use Oflomac Oz tablets cautiously.
• Liver and kidney disease: People with liver or kidney illness should use the Oflomac Oz tablet cautiously. Dose adjustments may be necessary based on the individual's liver or kidney function level.
• Myasthenia gravis: Oflomac Oz tablet may aggravate symptoms of myasthenia gravis, which leads to muscle weakness and fatigue. Patients with myasthenia gravis should be cautious when taking the Oflomac Oz tablet.
• Diabetes: Ofloxacin, one of the active ingredients in Oflomac Oz tablets, has been associated with a raised risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in patients with diabetes.
